Dr David Cleveland is a wedding officiant, and former

Justice of 35 years.

He is also College certified as a Wedding Planner.

Dr Cleveland is an expert at having your wedding be the event that you

have dreamed about. He will support you at one of the most important

events in a couples life, and awaits helping you plan and legally officiate

at your upcoming wedding.

We treat everyone with respect and dignity, and have fun at the same

time. We will meet with you and help write your vows and/or redesign the

ones that we have been using.

Our service is generally non-religious, and

we will meet with you and go over

your plans and make suggestions

before your ceremony.

We also do renewal of vows.

Weddings on the beach are our favorites, but we can perform the

ceremony anywhere you desire. We also have contacts with local florists, photographers, DJs, caterers, and Right Whales.

We are local to Provincetown, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, but on

request, we can travel to your location. Reservations are important,

especially for larger weddings.

Question and answers

Q.What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a

provider like you?

A.Look and listen for an Officiant who sounds friendly,

has a good command of English, and above all has a great sense

of APPROPRIATE humor.

Q.If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade?

Any inside secrets to share?

A.You want to know that officiants get nervous sometimes also.

With experience of having done many weddings though, the

officiant knows how to cover that all up. And, if you, as the

couple, make a mistake during the ceremony, that the officiant

knows how to make it o.k., how to make it light and airy again.

Q.What questions should a consumer ask the officiant?

A.Is the Officiant willing to meet with you before the ceremony,

to review what you want done, in a way that you want.

Are they willing to accept a money deposit for the day and time

you want to have the wedding. In case of rain has he left enough

time to move to your back-up location.

Q. What are some other questions?

A.Do you want your wedding indoors or out; on the beach or on

top of a Dune?

Are you going to be dressed formally? Most people are.

How would you like the Officiant to dress?

Do you want to meet with us before the wedding?

Q.Why does our work stand out from others who do what we do?

A.We have figured out how to keep Rain away! Really!
We can also offer little help and suggestions. Ex: The couple

had planned an "over the top wedding" at a local beach club.

On checking the location out, for looks and safety, my staff and I

found lot's of broken glass on the walkway to the beach the

Bride was

going to walk barefoot on, within 30 minutes.

Heavy weeds going down the length of that same sidewalk. A

short amount of time spent by us, made the event more beautiful

and much safer, because we cared and removed the weeds and

glass. Our customers never knew about it.

Q.As an Officiant-What do you like most about your job?

A.I am an important player, in one of the most Epic moments in

the life's of the couple, that is standing in front of me. And my work

is to absorb the beauty of the moment and share it back to the couple, and to all to their friends and guests. What a great job!

I also help to chase the little dog that has the

couples rings in a little box around his neck. And, that dog has

just seen another dog, that he knows he is destined to meet.

He breaks ranks and charges off down the beach, or backyard, to

meet his new doggie friend. He is accompanied by the best man,

the groom, and the officiant. And of course their little dog just

knows that the three people (sometimes way more than 3) want

to get to know the new little dog first -You had to be there!
